Voluntary recall of the BABY-SAFE PRO

Britax Römer is voluntarily recalling a defined population of BABY-SAFE PRO products manufactured between 26 December 2025 and 30 September 2026. The recall follows a reported Stiftung Warentest result that occurred only when the carrier was used in its most reclined position on the VARIO BASE 5Z; no issue was reported in the upright position or when the carrier was installed using the vehicle seat belt. The product continues to comply with UN Regulation 129 in all configurations, including the reclined position. Consumers with an affected seat can obtain a product replacement or a free product update.

What should you do

If your BABY-SAFE PRO was manufactured between 26 December 2025 and 30 September 2026, please use it in one of these two ways: (1) in the upright position on the VARIO BASE 5Z; or (2) without the base, installed with the vehicle seat belt in any reclined position described in the user manual.

All BABY-SAFE PRO products made before 26 December 2025 are not included in this recall and may continue to be used as instructed in all installation methods.
