Britax Römer issues voluntary recall for DUALFIX sold Nov. 2017 – Mar. 2018 DUALFIX car seat to be exchanged free of charge due to potential safety issue Leipheim, Germany, March 22, 2018 – Britax Römer is issuing a voluntary recall of certain classic DUALFIX child car seats due to a potential safety issue with a component in these seats. This potentially affected component was used in production batches sold between 3rd November 2017 and 22nd March 2018. Parents who purchased a DUALFIX during that time should go to https://www.dualfix-check.com/ to check if their seat is impacted by the voluntary recall and for further information. Britax Römer identified the cause of this potential issue and can confirm that DUALFIX car seats outside of the batches involved are not affected. The specific component is not used in any other Britax Römer products, including all other versions of the DUALFIX. Britax Römer has not received any reports of incidents or accidents relating to the potentially affected component. Britax Römer identified the potential issue when regular, internal quality tests of the DUALFIX, conducted in their European crash test centre, produced results that did not meet Britax Römer’s high safety standards. Child safety and product quality are the highest priorities for Britax Römer. Whilst only a small number of seats have the potentially affected component, Britax Römer will be exchanging all DUALFIX products sold between 3rd November 2017 and 22nd March 2018. Parents with a product affected by the recall should immediately stop using the product and register for a new one as soon as possible. Britax Römer will exchange their product free of charge and apologizes for any inconvenience or concern caused by this recall. For questions or concerns, please contact us at dualfix-check@britax.com.
