Accessibility Statement for Britax EMEA Websites (excluding UK)
1. Our Commitment - Making Our Website Accessible to Everyone
At Britax, safety and inclusion go hand in hand — not only in our products but also in how we share information online. We are committed to make our website www.britax-roemer.com to be accessible and easy to use for everyone, regardless of ability, age, or technology.
2. Ongoing Accessibility Measures
We’re continuously working to make our website experience clearer and more accessible.
Some of the measures we are implementing and continually enhancing include:
- Providing alternative text for images and videos so they can be understood by screen-reader users
- Supporting keyboard navigation for users who don’t use a mouse
- Maintaining a consistent and predictable page layout
- Using semantic HTML to help assistive technologies navigate content
- Ensuring form fields are clearly labelled and follow a logical order
- Structuring tables with headers for easier reading
- Carrying out regular internal reviews and automated tests
This statement aligns with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and the German Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG – Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz).
Our accessibility approach is built on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, an international standard for making digital content usable for all. Our objective is to achieve conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is a continuous priority, and we work closely with internal teams and external experts to improve and maintain compliance. Currently, our sites are partially conformant, and we are actively addressing identified gaps.
Accessibility on this website is assessed through a combination of internal evaluations and automated testing and, where applicable, independent audits by external accessibility specialists. Most recently, Valantic Digital Marketing & CRM GmbH (hereafter referred to as “Valantic”) conducted an external audit to identify and prioritise accessibility improvements. We are working with Valantic to address identified issues as part of our ongoing improvement programme.
3. Our Continuous Improvement Approach
Accessibility is part of how we design and build and maintain our websites — it’s not a one-off task but a continuous process. While some areas of the website still need attention, we’re working through them systematically to remove barriers. Our aim is simple: to create a digital experience that’s safe, fair, and welcoming for everyone.
We prioritise improvements by user impact and severity and release updates on a rolling basis. Our approach includes regular internal reviews and automated checks against recognised standards (such as WCAG 2.1 Level AA). Where appropriate, we may also engage independent accessibility specialists to review our sites and support our improvement efforts.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please let us know — see Section 6 “Your Feedback Matters” below — so we can assist you and incorporate your feedback into our improvement programme.
4. Technical Requirements and Supported Systems
Our website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge) and to be compatible with commonly used assistive technologies. For the best experience, please keep your browser, operating system, and assistive technologies up to date.
If you encounter any difficulties, please see Section 6 “Your Feedback Matters” below for how to contact us. We welcome feedback and will do our best to assist you.
