Britax Pushchair Harnesses statement

Andover, February 2011 – We have recently been alerted to issues with the length of harness on our 2010 B-SMART pushchairs. Whilst we have improved the 2011 models, we are keen to ensure that customers who purchased the 2010 models receive value for money and are able to continue using their pushchairs’ as their child grows.

At Britax our number one priority is always safety; the harnesses in our pushchairs are designed to give the best possible protection for your child right from birth. UK safety standards require that all pushchair harnesses pass a ‘roll over’ test and it is this safety factor that determined the length of the 2010 harnesses. In normal circumstances the length of the harness has been adequate, but with the addition of winter coats and blankets we have had reports of problems.

Our safety experts have been working to create a solution that complies with the safety regulations. To this end we have created harness extenders that add an additional 15cm to the length of the harness. These have passed safety testing and are available free for any Britax customers that require them. To order please call our customer services team on 01264 386 034.

In addition to this, the new generation 2011 B-SMART pushchairs have been modified to feature a harness that is 10cm longer than standard. Should you require more additional length the harness extenders can also be used on the new models.
