Kind + Jugend 2010: new products from BRITAX RÖMER

Flexibility and a cool head: these characteristics are in high demand during a trade fair like Kind + Jugend 2010. Not only are these characteristics in demand here but also in the everyday lives of young families, where flexibility is just as highly thought of as their children’s wellbeing when travelling.

Flexibility is exactly what’s on offer with the numerous innovations and design enhancements of Britax Römers extensive product portfolio. The transport solutions on show are easier to manoeuver, more versatile and even safer than before. In particular revamped children’s car seat the FIRST CLASS plus and the recently launched Travel System range comprising of the B-DUAL, B-SMART and B-MOBILE are not to be missed, whilst the new Keep Cool Cover with astounding thermal properties ensures a consistently pleasant-temperature when travelling whatever the weather.

FIRST CLASS plus

Even more comfort, even more elegance…Even first-class designs can be enhanced and improved. While the FIRST CLASS plus from Britax Römer has continuously scored well in terms of concept, craftsmanship and intelligent details, a new and improved model with additional innovative features has been designed and its grand unveiling coincides nicely with the fair. The new model features a design-enhanced insert for newborn babies, which with its generous proportions and baby-friendly cushioning demonstrates just how comfortable travelling safely can be. Even more importantly the seat’s new interior design closely mirrors the BABY-SAFE Sleeper insert developed by Britax Römer together with Dr. Philippe Meyer, ensuring the baby is protected at its most vulnerable points. The new insert includes a rounded head area to surround and support the new-born’s head, separate side cheeks, plus an additional foamed padding.

As well as all of these additional features the FIRST CLASS plus has also become more user-friendly, with effortless installation, both rearward and forward facing, thanks to a handy new belt guide. Last but not least, Britax Römer is offering a new collection of covers in attractive designs, guaranteed to please the younger passengers and companions alike.

The B-Range: B-DUAL, B-SMART and B-MOBILE

Britax has also enhanced and optimised numerous features on its range of Travel Systems. The B-DUAL is now a whole kilogram lighter making it easier to manoeuvre when you’re out and about, and thanks to new design features and materials, is now even more elegant and sturdy. The B-DUAL allows parents to comfortably accommodate two passengers, and now you can now choose from 22 seating combinations (that’s 12 more than was previously possible!) The improved system also provides even more space for the additional seat, so that twins, for instance, can travel in ultimate comfort. Despite this increased space and room for two children the B-DUAL is no larger than most prams on the market and is equally as light and manoeuvrable as other models. Anyone looking for a truly intelligent and versatile travel solution for two passengers will struggle to find anything as flexible on the market. Another member of the B-range, the B-SMART, a trendy, modular travel system has also become a whole kilogram lighter through a few nifty modifications. Alongside a reduction in weight the accessories have been improved – the showerproof hood has been enhanced to become height-adjustable, whilst the shopping basket has gained an extra eight centimetres in depth, allowing even more room for your child’s essentials (or an extra shopping bag!). The 4-wheeled version of the B-SMART has also been improved with a newly optimised chassis allowing for even more manoeuvrability. Lightweight, flexible travel system the B-MOBILE now features a new brake pedal for more control whilst out and about as well as a new belt system which provides enhanced comfort whilst travelling, particularly for older kids. There’s also a newly designed foot-rest, providing improved protection for your little ones against any dirt and splash backs. As well as these enhanced features the B-MOBILE will also be available with a new elegant cream-coloured frame. The products will be in the shops as from January 2011 at an RRP of £199.99 for the B-MOBILE, £329.99 for the B-SMART and £449.99 for the B-DUAL (£99.99 for the B-DUAL second seat).

Keep Cool Cover

Textiles with climate-regulating properties are ideal for use in children’s seats. They ensure that irrespective of the changing weather conditions the child is neither too hot nor too cold. Britax Römer is now launching a brand new accessory, the ‘Keep Cool Cover’. Using Outlast® technology, originally developed for NASA, in order to protect astronauts from temperature fluctuations in space, Britax is the first company to use this technology to keep babies’ and children as comfortable as possible when travelling in their car seats. The Outlast® technology absorbs surplus body heat to keep the baby cool or when needed keeps the baby warm, by releasing the stored heat which was previously absorbed. By effectively managing fluctuations in temperature children will never experience sweating or shivering when travelling as their car seat will always maintain the optimum microclimate on your baby’s skin.
